The Tax on Vehicle in Japan

Other taxes that you might pay while your visit are automobile tax and light vehicle tax. I think that you want to have any vehicles, which are a car or a bicycle, when you stay in Japanese local area. The time, the taxes impose on your vehicles.

When you have your vehicles on April first, you are bound to pay your automobile tax on your car to your prefecture if you have your cars, on the other hands you have an obligation to pay your light vehicle tax to your city if you have your light cars or bicycles until May 31st.

These taxes are paid at any banks and/or convenience stores with your tax notices that are sent by tax office and/or your city hall.
